At Nauticool, we believe that one of the most vital things to get right on board is the climate and temperature, ensuring that you are comfortable and safe while sailing. We offer a range of customisable air conditioning systems from the industry's leading brands Dometic and Carrier, to suit you and your marine vessel's specific needs. The three types of air conditioning solution that we provide are: chilled water, split gas air and self contained AC units, with each one offering its own benefits depending on the size and structure of the boat.
Multiple chillers located in the engine room or machinery space that cools (or heats) a freshwater loop, this is then pumped around the boat through insulated piping to air handlers located in the living areas that cool (or heat) the boat. There are no limitations on the number of air handlers in a system, or the size of the system. We design, install and commission a series of custom build frames and manifolds.
The most common type of marine AC, self contained units are standalone cooling systems which can easily be installed anywhere in the vessel as they contain all the components of an AC system in one location. Every cabin is equipped with its own unit which is specified according to the cabin’s size, cooling/heating demand and location of the boat.
With a split gas marine air conditioning system the condensing unit (the compressor with the sea water cooled condenser) is “split” from the air handler and placed in an engine room or other remote space. The air-handler / evaporator remains in the space to be conditioned and the two parts are connected by insulated refrigerant lines.
